A visit to Jill & David's Farm, near Escondido

I met a really nice lady named Jill and she invited us out to see her farm out in the country near Escondido.  Jill and her husband, David live in the country with spectacular views of the mountains and the surrounding area.  They had a lot of animals.  The girls had so much fun with the miniature donkeys, horses, llamas, ducks, a mandarin duck and peacocks.  She even had a Nene (pronounced nay-nay) which is a goose on the endangered species list.  I was curious and googled the Nene and I found out that they are native to Hawaii and they used to be in great numbers on the Hawaiian islands but now are endangered.  The goose reminded me of a Canadian goose but more unique looking.  The girls got to hold chickens and ducks.  They even got to brush the horses and the donkey and feed the animals.  The horses and the donkeys have screen protectors over their eyes to keep away the flies.  Jill and David have a beautiful piece of property and they are building a modern dream home on their property.  The views from their property are amazing.  We had a wonderful afternoon visiting them.
