Laguna Beach, CA

Laguna Beach is one of my favorite towns in Orange County.  It has cute shops and restaurants.  We stayed there on one of our vacations to CA.  We walked around the town and watched the sun set at the beach. 

Dana Point, CA

We stopped in Dana Point.  They have a huge harbor with many boats.  They also have a replica of an old sailboat.  There are pretty cliffs in Dana Point.

San Clemente, CA

This past weekend we drove up the coast North of us.  The next town North of us is San Clemente, which is 20 minutes away.  The area in between Oceanside and San Clemente is owned by Camp Pendelton.  San Clemente is a cute town with a lot of houses built into the mountain side.  There is a cute downtown with some old buildings.  They have a cute pier with some restaurants on it.  It reminds me of a smaller version of Oceanside.

San Diego Wildlife Park, Escondido

The San Diego Wildlife Park is located in Escondido which is about 30 minutes from where we live.  It is part of the San Diego Zoo.  It is an 1800 acre area where a lot of the animals roam free just as they would in Africa.  It is a really beautiful park with a lot of walking.  We took a 30 minute tram ride around a huge area that had all kinds of aminals, including giraffe, water buffalos, vultures and other birds.  It was really neat.  We saw bats, a bird with Elvis hair, Flamingos with grey babies, gorillas, a baby gorilla,  lions, elephants and hummingbirds.  The girls got to brush the goats in the petting zoo.  We had a great day out in the country.  As you can see, I took a lot of pictures. 

Mombasa Lagoon, San Diego Wildlife Park

The Mombasa Lagoon is a big, pond area in the park.  There are birds, ducks, cranes, white pelicans and geese.  There are machines with food so you can feed the animals.  I couldn't get my kids out of this area.  They were having so much fun feeding the animals.  It was a very peaceful area and it was really pretty to walk around this area.
