Before we got to the Big Texan Restaurant in Amarillo, Tx we went through Groom, Tx which has a giant cross that is 19 stories high and can be seen 20 miles away from the surrounding area. At the base of the cross are life sized statues of the stations of the cross.
This place was so colorful and we were hungry so we pulled over for lunch. It was so much fun. It was part museum, gift shop, entertainment center and restaurant. The steaks were delicious. They have an offer that if you can eat their 72 ounce steak in one hour you can have it for free. They put you on a stage in front of the restaurant with a time clock. If you can't eat it, the steak costs you $72. While we were eating a cowboy singer came and sang to us on our table. There was a giant rocking chair, a Zoltar fortune teller machine, a haunted gun shoot game and much more. Here are all the pictures I took there.
