Dinner with Mike Moreno

A family friend of Chano's family, Mike Moreno was in California on business.  We had dinner with him at Ruby's at the end of the Oceanside Pier.  It was good to see Mike again. 

Oceanside Sunset with Dana

After we had lunch at Ruby's at the pier, Dana, Molly and I grabbed some beach chairs and watched the sunset.  As usual, it was beautiful, but a little chilly when the sun starts to go down.  You will see the pier in one of the pictures.

Oceanside Pier & Ruby's with Dana & The Ludwig Familly

When Dana was visiting our friends from Winfield, Erik, Janeen and their daughters, June and Joy Ludwig were in town visiting some relatives in Carlsbad.  We arranged to have lunch with them at Ruby's Restaurant which is located at the end of the Oceanside Pier.  The views from the restaurant are really beautiful.  It was good to see them while they were here.  

San Diego Zoo with Dana

 

When my friend, Dana visited we went to San Diego Zoo.  It is a beautiful zoo.  It is also a botanical garden with different varieties of plants from all over the world.  It is the best zoo that I have ever been to.  Dana has a really fancy camera and she took some awesome pictures.  The first 5 pictures are Dana's pictures and rest are mine.  You will see the difference.  My favorite picture is the up close picture of the hummingbird by the flower.   I took a lot of pictures of animals that day, but I am only posting some of them.  There is an aerial tram that crosses the park.   The tram is really cool because you get to see all the animals, the San Diego skyline and Balboa Park.  Balboa Park is right next to the zoo.  Balboa Park has old buildings that are now mostly museum buildings.  Balboa Park is busy with a lot of activity and street vendors, but at night it is all light up with lights.  It is a neat place to visit along with the zoo.  Enjoy.

Welk Resort, Escondido, CA with Dana

My friend, Dana came to visit me.  I got a really good deal from my vacation club for her to stay at the Lawrence Welk Resort in Escondido.  We have stayed here before and it is beautiful.  It is set in the mountains and they have 8 pools some with slides, hot tubs, game rooms, restaurants, and a theater.  It is very private as the resort is only open to guests.  She had a beautiful room and we enjoyed the amenties of the resort.  Dana cousins, Karen and Tony and their 4 kids came to visit Dana at the resort.  They live about 45 minutes away.  So, we had a little party in the room one night and their kids played with our kids.  We had a great time the Lawrence Welk and we can't wait to visit there again. 

San Luis Rey Mission with Dana

No visit to Oceanside would be complete without a visit to the San Luis Rey Mission.  It is called the "King of the Missions" because it is the largest of the 21 missions built in Calfornia.  So when Dana came to visit, I took her there.
