Seaworld with the Rigerts

Our neighbors and friend from Winfield, the Rigerts came to visit California.  Marina was best friends with their daughter, Abby.  Marina bought Abby a Seaworld best friend necklace where they each get half of the necklace.  It was very cute.  It was good to spend the day at Seaworld with them and have lunch with them there.  A cool looking bird was watching us when we ate.  It was Dec. 30th but the park was still decorated for Christmas.

La Jolla Seals

La Jolla is a beautiful city and translated means "the jewel."  La Jolla is known for the sea lions that rest on the rocks near the La Jolla Cove also called the children's pool.  January is when the sea lions have their pups.  There are a lot of seals barking there.  If you look closely at the photographs, you can see the pups.  They are tan in color.  Click on the lower left hand corner of the black box to watch a video and hear the seals.

Daphne's 12th birthday, December 15, 2012

I can't believe Daphne is 12.  Next year she will be a teenager.  She wanted a cookie cake for her birthday. Cake is upside down and I can seems to get it right side up.

Christmas Eve, 2012

Our family had done so much travelling that we decided that we were going to stay in Oceanside for Christmas.  We thought we would be by ourselves.  But, we were presently surprised when my mother-in-law, father-in-law, our cousin, Stephanie, her boyfriend, Richie, our cousin, Karina and my neighbor, Doris were all coming for Christmas Eve dinner.  I made a turkey with all the fixing and we had a nice time.  After dinner, everyone played just dance on the Wii.  I have included the videos for your enjoyment. Just click on the arrow in the lower left hand corner of the black box and the video will start to play.

USS Recruit, Downtown San Diego

I dropped Chano at the airport one day and I took a different way home and I came across this ship in a parking lot.  So, the kids and I got out.  It turned out to be the USS Recruit which was a model of a ship that was built in the 50's as a training prop for the Navy.  It never actually sailed as it is not a ship.  It was interesting though.

Oceanside Christmas Decorations

It didn't feel too much like Christmas with the California weather, but I did take some pictures of some of the Christmas decorations including the Poinsettas by the library and Christmas lights.

Christmas Celebration at Seaworld.

On Saturday, we went with our family and our cousin, Stephanie to Seaworld for the Christmas Celebration at Seaworld. They had a Snow World there with snow and a small sledding area.  My kids miss the snow so I thought it would be fun.  It was a beautiful day and the park was decorated for Christmas.

Christmas photo shoot at the Oceanside Beach

The girls got dresses from their Grandma Alicia and they got dressed and I took pictures at the beach for my Christmas cards.  We went to the Oceanside Beach.  You can see the Oceanside Pier in the distance.
