Coronado, California

We drove from San Diego over the Coronado bridge to meet Chano's cousins at the beach near the Hotel Del Cornado.  Coronado is quite beautiful.  The Hotel Del Coronado is quite old and Victornian looking.  The kids had fun playing with their cousins at the beach and in the sand.  We saw a really beautiful sand castle on the beach.  It was actually a marriage proposal.  Some guy named Kevin asked his girlfriend if she would marry him.  I think it is quite romantic.  After the beach, we had pizza at Ferry Landing on Coronado which overlooked the bay and downtown San Diego.  It was beautiful. Afterward we went to Stephanie's house and had a drink with Chano's cousins for Rolondo's birthday.

O'Sullivan's Restaurant, Carlsbad

Chano took the kids to the beach with their cousins and I went out to lunch with my in-laws.  We went to Carlsbad Village with their tree lined streets with shops and restaurants.  We ate outside at O'Sullivan's Restaurant.  My in-laws stayed with us, but the last night they stayed in a hotel so the girls could go swimming and they could leave early to drive home.  The kids went swimming that night before we had dinner.

Pacific Beach, San Diego

We stopped at Pacific Beach to say hello to Chano's cousins and we walked around Pacific Beach a little.  We walked on Crystal Pier where there were these cute little houses you can rent out right on the car.  Even cars could park on the pier.

Daily News Restaurant, Carlsbad

We showed my in-laws around and we started in Carlsbad for lunch.  We ate at the Daily News and sat outside.  The restaurant had beautiful stained glass and an English phone box outside.

Dinner with cousins from Texas

Chano's cousin Rolondo, his wife, Laurena and their children live in Texas.  Their daughter, Stephanie lives in San Diego and they came to visit her.  We got together with them for dinner for in Oceanside and my kids got to meet some of their cousins they had never met before. Pictured are Chano and Rolondo and then a picture of all the cousins, Stephanie, Joshua, Rolondo and Orlando at Oceanside Harbor.

Bakersfield, CA and Pyramid Lake

Driving home from Sacramento, we drove through Bakersfiled, CA with these big mountains and we also went past Pyramid Lake.  If you look closely, you can see a pyramid formation in the rock.

Funderland, Sacramento, CA

My in-laws took the kids to Funderland Park in Sacramento, CA.   It had cute rides for kids.  It reminded me of Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL.
